What we treat

Our medical centre handles the full range of general practice care for every age, from a newborn’s first check to aged care health assessments. If your problem needs something we can’t do here, we will say so and refer you.

Infections, fevers, asthma flare-ups, wounds, sprains, ear and throat problems.

Cervical screening, contraception including Implanon insertion and removal, sexual health, prostate and heart risk checks.

ECG, spirometry, iron infusions, ear syringing, wound care and ingrown toenail removal.

Immunisations, development checks, and unwell kids seen the same day where possible.

Diabetes, heart disease, asthma and COPD, with GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements that bring in allied health.

Mental Health Treatment Plans, on-site psychologists and psychiatrists, plus an 8-week CBT group therapy program with Medicare rebates available for up to ten sessions a year.

Full body checks, cryotherapy, biopsies and excisions.

Destination-specific advice, travel vaccinations, and health assessments for international travel.

Your Baldivis doctors and the specialists who visit

Our Baldivis doctors include nine FRACGP-qualified general practitioners, supported by practice nurses and a treatment room. More than a dozen specialists consult on site, including paediatricians, a cardiologist, a nephrologist, a gastroenterologist, psychiatrists, psychologists, a midwife and a physiotherapist.

Seeing the same GP each visit is worth more than most people realise. A doctor who already knows your history spots the change that matters and skips the twenty minutes of catch-up. Our Baldivis family doctors typically work this way, and you can select your preferred GP when you book.

For specialist care, one rule decides whether you pay the full fee or the rebated one: you need a GP referral written before the specialist appointment. Referrals cannot be back-dated, and they expire, so book a GP review before yours runs out.

Patients looking for Baldivis doctors for surgery can have minor procedures done in our treatment room under local anaesthetic, including the removal of skin cancers, lesions and cysts. Larger cases are referred on, and both a plastic surgeon and an orthopaedic surgeon consult here, which shortens the trip for anyone who would otherwise be sent into Perth for a first consultation.

Skin checks in Baldivis

A skin clinic in Baldivis is not a separate building. Our GPs perform full-body skin checks on site, assess suspicious moles and spots, and treat what they find with cryotherapy, biopsy, shave excision or surgical removal under local anaesthetic, usually in the same practice visit or shortly after.

A Baldivis skin check takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes. The doctor examines you head to toe, including the scalp and between the toes, and anything suspicious is photographed, measured or biopsied on the spot. If a lesion needs removing, it is booked as a short procedure appointment rather than added to the end of a consultation.

Western Australia gives you the sun exposure of a country with none of the cloud cover, and melanoma found early is usually a minor day procedure. Found late, it is not. If you have a spot that has changed shape, colour or size, or one that bleeds or will not heal, book this week.

At Baldivis Family Medical Centre, we focus on providing accessible, ongoing care for individuals and families at every stage of life. From routine check-ups and preventative healthcare to specialist referrals and chronic disease management, our goal is to make healthcare simpler and more connected.

Worth knowing: When comparing skin clinics in Baldivis, ask who reads the pathology and how fast you get the result. Here, the biopsy goes to the lab from on-site collection.

Pathology and tests, without the second trip

Baldivis Family Medical Centre’s Pathology collection operates on site Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Blood tests ordered by your GP can be taken in the same visit, so there is no second carpark, no second waiting room and no separate appointment across town.

Also done here: ECG, spirometry, pulse oximetry, venesection, iron infusions and 24-hour ECG Holter monitoring. The Holter monitor is fitted in the clinic rather than at a hospital; the recording is read by a cardiologist, and it is bulk billed for eligible Medicare cardholders.

What it costs

We accommodate bulk-billed and privately billed appointments.

Standard appointments are bulk billed for patients under 16, pension and health care card holders, and DVA Gold card holders. DVA White card holders may be bulk billed for covered conditions at the GP’s discretion, and bulk billing may be available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.

Walk-in patients are welcome during clinic hours at Baldivis Family Medical Centre. Booking ahead through HotDoc or on (08) 9591 8423 means a shorter wait and lets you choose your preferred GP. If you walk in, you will be seen by the next available doctor, and waiting times depend on how busy the clinic is that day.

DVA White card holders may be bulk billed for covered conditions at the GP’s discretion. Other appointments are privately billed with a Medicare rebate, leaving a gap payment on the day.

Yes. Our GPs provide full-body skin checks and treat sunspots, suspicious moles and skin cancers with cryotherapy, biopsy, shave excision or surgical removal under local anaesthetic.
