Dr Meghana Ghanawat

Developmental Paediatrician

Dr Meghana Ghanawat is a dedicated Paediatrician and Neonatologist with a special interest in developmental and behavioural paediatrics. She is committed to providing thoughtful, family-centred care, supporting children and their families through every stage of growth and development.

After completing her medical and specialist paediatric training in India, Dr Meghana undertook advanced training in Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). She has worked across a wide range of healthcare settings, including tertiary hospitals and regional centres throughout Western Australia and interstate, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the diverse needs of Australian families.

Dr Meghana has a strong focus on developmental and behavioural concerns, including autism, developmental delays, learning difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges. Her postgraduate research on behavioural changes in children further informs her holistic and evidence-based approach to care. She is formally trained in developmental assessments and is passionate about early identification and intervention to help children reach their full potential.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Meghana has worked with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and Neonatal Emergency Transport Services (NETS), providing critical care to newborns and children across remote and regional Australia. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Aeromedical Retrieval from James Cook University.

Dr Meghana is the founder and director of Bharat Aeromedical Retrieval Services in India, where she is leading the development of coordinated medical transport systems to improve access to timely emergency care. She is also actively involved in international aeromedical training and supports the establishment of retrieval services in developing countries.

Known for her calm, approachable manner, Dr Meghana values building strong relationships with families. She takes the time to listen, understand each child’s unique needs, and develop clear, practical care plans in partnership with parents.

Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, exploring the outdoors, and learning new languages, reflecting her belief in a balanced and positive approach to life.
